GOOD NAME

Men talk too much of gold and fame, and not enough about a name; and yet a good name’s better far than all earth’s glistening jewels are.-

Edgar Albert Guest

- A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, Loving favor rather than silver and gold.-Proverbs 22:1
Both my parents are covered by this scripture-love and miss them both.

GOD HATH NOT PROMISED

 GOD HATH NOT PROMISED

God hath not promised skies always blue,

Flower strewn pathways all our lives through.

God hath not promised sun without rain,

Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.

But God hath promised strength for the day,

Rest for the labor, light for the way,

Grace for the trials, help from above,

Unfailing sympathy, undying love.

God hath not promised we shall not know

Toil and temptation, trouble and woe;

He hath not told us we shall not bear

Many a burden, many a care.

But God hath promised strength for the day,

Rest for the labor, light for the way,

Grace for the trials, help from above,

Unfailing sympathy, undying love.

God hath not promised smooth roads and wide,

Swift, easy travel, needing no guide.

Never a mountain rocky and steep,

Never a river turbid and deep.

But God hath promised strength for the day,

Rest for the labor, light for the way,

Grace for the trials, help from above,

Unfailing sympathy, undying love.-Annie Johnson Flint

In Part . . . In Full

Scripture I Corinthians 13:12-13 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1st John 3:2 2 Corinthians 5:7

I Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion but of peace . . .

Observation A glimpse of the glory, strength, power, presence, peace, love, etc. . . . of God is what we experience now but one forever day we will see Him in full, in all His glory and majesty.

Application I would live seeking to draw nearer, know better my God and Father and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and look forward to that eternal day when I will know, see, experience Him in ALL His glory and majesty.

Prayer Thank You Jesus for opening the doors of heaven that I might know and experience Your presence both now, in part, and forever, in full.

OTHERS

"OTHERS"-William Booth, Founder of The Salvation Army. God's Love Demostrated

Scripture  I John 4:9-10 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Observation/ Application  God demonstrated how much He loves us by sending His One and Only Son into the world to pay the price, to take ownership of our sins.

Prayer Thank You Father for sending Jesus to pay the price for my sin and that of the whole world. Jesus paid it ALL.

Confidence in Christ

Scripture Psalm 118 :8-9 It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.

Observation Trusting in the Lord is far better than trusting men/princes.

Application I will put my trust in the Lord Jesus Christ above and before all else.

Prayer Thank You, Jesus, for Your love and forgiveness. My faith and trust and confidence is in You.

Jesus' Example

Scripture John 13:15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.  John 13:17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. Observation/Application/Prayer My Defense, my Rock, my Glory, my Refuge, my Strength, my God, my Salvation, my Jesus, my LORD, my Savior. Whatever comes my way I know You are with me, that I can pour out my heart before You, You listen, You love. My Creator, Creator of all that is and will no longer be or be remembered or brought to mind in that New Heaven and New Earth beyond my comprehension where there will be no more sin, sickness, pain, sorrow, or tears. The old things passed away and everything forever new. Thank You Jesus, my All, here, now, and for All eternity.

God's Gracious Gift

Scripture Titus 3:4-7 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared,  not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,  whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,  that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Prayer Thank You, Jesus, for Your grace. Thank You, Father, for Your love and for the fellowship of Your Holy Spirit.

Whole-Hearted Service

Scripture I Samuel 12:24 Only fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.

Galatians 5:16-I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Galatians 5:22-25 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Victory in Jesus

“Oh victory in Jesus, my Savior forever, He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood, He loved me…and all my love is due Him, He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood.”- E.M. Bartlett, 1939

Mr. Bartlett suffered a paralyzing stroke that left him unable to walk or even speak and for the most part, he was bedridden. Many felt the stroke ended his teaching ministry, yet It was during these dark days that Eugene would write his best-known hymn, Victory In Jesus

Thank You Jesus for so loving me. I want to love You more and share Your love. I’m pretty sure I first heard this hymn at Allen Park Church of the Nazarene because my sweet Mom took us from my earliest memory. Thanks, mom,  I will always remember and be thankful that I first heard about Jesus because of you.
