Hear His Voice

 Scripture Matthew 11:15 He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

Observation God speaks to my heart, am I listening?

Application I want to, need to be sensitive, attentive to the voice of God.

Prayer Father, this day, and each one You bless me with, I would have a sensitivity to, a recognition of Your voice, speaking to me and have a tender/attentive, listening heart.

Little Ones Reward

 

Scripture Matthew 10:42 Whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.

Observation Reaching out to meet the needs of children comes with an irrevocable reward.

Application I would have eyes wide open to the needs of children.

Prayer Father, I would look more like You to the needs of little ones/children.

Jesus my Friend and Brother

 I have a Friend Who is closer than a brother. Thank You Jesus!-Proverbs 18:24

No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.-John 15:15

Only Faith

 Scripture Matthew 9:2 Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.”

Observation The faith of others can result not only in physical healing but people receiving forgiveness of sins.

Application I would be diligent in my prayers for others and seize every opportunity to bring them to Jesus.

Prayer Lord God, I would seize every opportunity  to bring others to Jesus.

Wisdom, Truth, and Joy

 

Scripture Psalms 51:6, 8, 12 Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom . . . Make me hear joy and gladness, that the bones You have broken may rejoice . . . Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me by Your generous Spirit.

Observation  Inward Truth, wisdom , joy, gladness, and in my brokenness, rejoicing are mine from You and Your Spirit abiding in me.

Application I will seek Truth and Wisdom which come from the LORD and joy and gladness even amid brokenness.

Prayer Thank You, Father, for Your wisdom and Truth that You give me access to, and joy and gladness even amid my brokenness and pain.

God of Mercy and Truth

 

Scripture Psalms 57:10 For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens, and Your truth unto the clouds.

Observation The mercy and truth of God is infinite.

Application/Prayer Father, today, every day throughout eternity I would be thankful for Your infinite mercy and trusting in You, Who are The Way, The TRUTH, and The Life.

True Treasure

First things First

 

Scripture Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Observation Jesus lays out priorities for us.

Application Seek external before earthly and God will take care of both.

Prayer Father, help me in putting eternal treasures before earthly and trust You to take care of both.

He Looks and Listens

 

Scripture Psalms 34:15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.

Observation God looks upon me and listens to me.

Application The Lord has His eyes on me and hears when I cry out to Him.

Prayer Thank You Father for always having an eye on me and listening when I cry out too You.

God of Mercy, Power, and Strength

 Scripture-Psalms 59:16-17 But I will sing of Your power; Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning; For You have been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble. To You, O my Strength, I will sing praises; For God is my defense, My God of mercy.

Observation My God is All-Powerful, Merciful, my Defender, Refuge and Strength.

Application I would live today remembering that my All-Powerful, Merciful God/Father is my constant companion, Defender, Refuge, and Strength.

Prayer Thank You, Father, for being my All-Powerful, Merciful God/Father, my constant companion, Defender, Refuge, and Strength.

Trinity

 

Scripture Matthew 3:16-17 When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Observation The Trinity; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are presented.

Application God is present in three forms: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Prayer Thank You, Father, for manifesting Yourself to me/letting me know You in all three forms: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

 

The Battle is the LORD's

 

 

Scripture I Samuel 17:45-47, Matthew 2:19-21

Psalms 9:7a-The LORD shall endure forever.

Observation From the times of David and Goliath to Toddler Jesus and King Herod there’s been spiritual warfare manifested in a physical/flesh and blood battle. The battle is the Lord’s, and He shall endure forever.

Application No matter what I may come up against, my God is greater, my God is stronger, He is higher than any other, and His purposes are eternal, and He is and will be victorious.

Prayer Father, no matter what comes my way, or how rough the struggle may get, I would keep my eyes on You and know/trust that ultimately Your plan/purposes will prevail and victory is guaranteed.

Jesus my Savior

 Scripture She will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.- Matthew 1:21

 Observation Jesus is Savior.

Application I will trust in Jesus as my Savior.

Prayer Thank You, Jesus for being my Savior.

Grace, Love, and Fellowship

 

Scripture 2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

Observation/ Application  The grace of Jesus, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit are with those who believe/are with me.

Prayer Thank You, Jesus, for Your grace. Thank You, Father, for Your love and for the fellowship of Your Holy Spirit.

Strength and Grace in my Weakness

  Scripture 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore, I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Observation In my weakness the power/strength of Christ shows forth.

Application I will trust in the grace of God and the power of Christ during my weakness.

Prayer Thank You, Jesus, for Your grace and strength in my weakness.

Whole-Hearted Service

 

Scripture I Samuel 12:24 Only fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.

Observation Reverence for and wholehearted service to God should be my response out of gratitude for all He has done for me.

Application I would revere and serve God with my whole heart out of thankfulness for all He has done for me.

Prayer Thank You, Father, for Your limitless blessings toward me. I would love, serve, and honor You wholeheartedly.

The Glory of God

 

Scripture 2 Corinthians 10:17-18 But “he who glories, let him glory in the Lord.” For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends.

Romans 2:29, 1 Corinthians 4:5, Proverbs 27:2, 1 Samuel 16:7b

Observation/Application It’s all about the honor and glory of and from God.

Prayer Father, may You be honored and glorified in, through, and from me.

Gift Beyond Description

  

Scripture 2 Corinthians 9:15 Now thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!

Observation God's gift of eternal life is beyond description!

Application Every day I would give thanks to God for His indescribable gift of eternal life!

Prayer Father thank You for the gift of eternal life, which is beyond description!

My Life is in God's Hands

 Scripture I Samuel 3:18b- It is the Lord. Let Him do what seems good to Him.

Observation God knows what is best for us.

Application I will trust my life into God’s hands.

Prayer Father, You, alone, my God, my Creator, know what is best for me, I entrust my life into Your hands.

My Holy Rock

 Scripture I Samuel 2:2 There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you;  there is no Rock like our God.

Observation Only God is holy, He alone is my Rock.

Application Lord, God, You only are holy, You alone are my Rock.

Prayer Father, God, You alone are holy and my Rock.

He Has Made Me Glad

 

Scripture Psalms 64:10 The righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and trust in Him. And all the upright in heart shall glory.

Observation/Application My trust is in the Lord, in Him alone I will glory and be glad.

Prayer Father, in You alone I would trust, for in You I would glory and find gladness.

A Heavenly Body

 

Scripture 2 Corinthians 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Observation One day our physical body will die/be destroyed but we have an eternal dwelling in heaven which can never be taken away.

Application Though my physical body is wasting away, I will set my eyes/focus on an eternal dwelling in heaven.

Prayer Father, You alone know the weakness/frailty of my physical body, I want to thank You for a glorified/eternal/heavenly body that will one forever day be mine.

Eternal Focus

 

Scripture 2 Corinthians 4:16-18    Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.  For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,  while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Observation Our outward man is perishing, our inward man is eternal.

Application It’s what’s on the inside, what’s unseen that is eternal and should be our focus/priority.        

Prayer Father, help me to put more of my focus on things eternal. 

ONLY ONE

 

Scripture Psalms 89:48 What man can live and not see death? Can he deliver his life from the power of the grave?

Observation Death comes to all, and no one can deliver their own life from the grave?

Application Physical death comes to all and only ONE, Jesus, has conquered death and the grave.

Prayer Thank You, Jesus, for conquering death and the grave, doing for me what I could not do for myself, for making it possible for me to have the gift of eternal life.

Triumphant Fragrance

 

Scripture 2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.

Observation  Through Christ we are triumphant, and  He makes Himself known.

Application  I am an instrument in God’s hands through which He makes Himself known.

Prayer Father, may I be an instrument in Your hands for Your glory, diffusing the knowledge of You as a sweet-smelling fragrance.

Call Out

 Scripture Psalms 50:15 Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.

Observation Our God beckons us to call out to Him that He may answer and be glorified.

Application When troubles/trials come I will cry out to God, and He will deliver me and be glorified.

Prayer Father, thank You for always being there when I call/cry out to You.

Only Jesus

 Scripture-Psalms 49:8-9 For the redemption of their souls is costly, and it shall cease forever—That he should continue to live eternally, and not see the Pit. (Matt. 16:26), Ps. 89:48

Observation The price/cost for our souls and the gift of eternal life came at a high price.

Application  Only Jesus can pay the price for my soul and give me the gift of eternal life.

Prayer Thank You, Jesus, for paying the price for my soul and giving me the gift of eternal life.

Victory and Satisfaction

 

Scripture Psalms 42:1 As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. I Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 7:25, 2 Corinthians 2:14, Romans 8:37, Hebrews 2:14, 1 John 5:14, 1 John 5:14

Observation Only Jesus can satisfy my soul and give me victory.

Application I will look to Jesus for victory in my daily battles and to quench my thirsting soul.

Prayer Thank You Jesus, for giving me victory in my daily battles and quenching my soul’s daily thirst. 

The-Lord-Is-Peace

 

Scripture Judges 6:23-24 Then the Lord said to him, “Peace be with you; do not fear, you shall not die.” So, Gideon built an altar there to the Lord, and called it  The-Lord-Is-Peace.

Observation The Lord gives peace and life.

Application I would not fear but rest in the peace and life only God can give.

Prayer Thank You Lord for life and peace that only comes from You.

God Sees and Hears

 Scripture Psalms 39:12-Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear to my cry; Do not be silent at my tears.

Observation God hears when I cry out, He sees and is not silent at my tears

Application I will cry out in prayer to God, knowing that He sees my tears, hears my cries.

Prayer Thank You for hearing and responding to my prayers, my cries out to You. I know You see and are not silent at my tears/cries.

Riding The Storm Out
