EARS THAT HEAR

 

Scripture Ezekiel 1:28 28 Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. So, when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of One speaking. Ezekiel 3:27  But when I speak with you, I will open your mouth, and you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God.’ He who hears, let him hear; and he who refuses, let him refuse; for they are a rebellious house.

Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 29 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”  

Observation From the Prophet Ezekiel to the Apostle John a vision from/of God and the voice of/message from God.

Application The message of God has been the same through the centuries; yesterday, today, and forever. He who has ears let him hear.

Prayer Thank You, Father, for gifting me Your Word. I would not only have ears to hear, but a heart to believe, receive and not just be a  hearer but a doer of Your Word. This day and every day having a tender and obedient heart. Yielded and still, seeking Your will, speak to my heart today.

Fullness of God

 Scripture Psalms 143:8 Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You.

Observation  The fullness of God’s love and compassion is wholeheartedly available to me.

Application I would begin each day with a sensitivity to Your love and compassion toward me.

Prayer Father, God, I would be ever listening, ever looking to You, ever trusting, every day.

GREAT and MIGHTY

 Scripture  Jeremiah 33:3 Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.

Observation/ Application  When I call out to God, He will answer and show me great and mighty things beyond my comprehension.

Prayer Father, thank You for giving me access to Your incomprehensible power. 

God's Love Demostrated

 Scripture  I John 4:9-10 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Observation/ Application  God demonstrated how much He loves us by sending His One and Only Son into the world to pay the price, to take ownership of our sins.

Prayer Thank You Father for sending Jesus to pay the price for my sin and that of the whole world. Jesus paid it ALL.

The LORD MY GOD Listens

 Scripture Jeremiah 29:11-13 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

Observation When I pray and call out the LORD listens.

Application I would call out in prayer knowing that the LORD MY GOD is listening.

Prayer Thank You, Father, for the assurance that when I call out in prayer You are listening. So I would seek You whole-heartedly.

Precious Blood

 Scripture I John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Observation/Application  Confession brings cleansing and forgiveness of sin.

Prayer Thank You, Jesus, for shedding Your precious blood that my sins may be forgiven.

Confidence in Christ

 Scripture Psalm 118 :8-9 It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.

Observation Trusting in the Lord is far better than trusting men/princes.

Application I will put my trust in the Lord Jesus Christ above and before all else.

Prayer Thank You, Jesus, for Your love and forgiveness. My faith and trust and confidence is in You.

Peace and Victory in Jesus

 

Scripture John 16:7, 13-14, 16, 22-24, 27, 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

Observation Jesus speaks to us that we might have peace in Him.

Application  In the midst of a world filled with tribulation, we can have a peace that surpasses understanding in Jesus, Who has overcome the world.

Prayer  Thank You, Jesus, that no matter what trial may come my way, that in You I have peace and victory.

Jesus' Example

 Scripture John 13:15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.  John 13:17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. Jeremiah 9:24 But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness in the earth. for in these I delight,” says the Lord.

Observation Jesus left us an example to follow.

Application Do as Jesus did, love as Jesus loved.

Prayer Dear Jesus, thank You for Your Word and Your Words, Your example, and Your love. Through the power of Your Holy Spirit, living and abiding in me, I would follow Your example, be a doer of Your Word, and love others like You love me.

Resurrection and Life

 

Scripture   John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

Observation Jesus is The Resurrection and The Life. Jesus holds the key to eternal life.

Application I believe in Jesus, the giver of everlasting life.

Prayer Thank You, Jesus, for coming for me, for paying the price so that I may receive the gift of eternal life.

Good Shepherd

 Scripture John 10: 27-30 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.  And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.  My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.  I and My Father are one.   3-4,7,9-11,14-15,17-18 Jeremiah 1:5-Isaiah 49:1,5

Observation Jesus is The Good Shepherd Who gives eternal life to His sheep.

Application I have the gift of eternal life because of Jesus.

Prayer Thank You, Jesus, for the gift of eternal life and for Your sacrifice that purchased this gift for me. Each day I would hear Your voice and follow You. 

JESUS-THE LIGHT

 

Scripture I am the light of the world. John 9:5b

Observation Jesus brings/brought light, physical/spiritual, into the world.

Application Jesus is The Light of the world, apart from Him people walk in darkness.

Prayer Thank You, Jesus, for turning The Light on for me.

I AM JESUS

 

Scripture  John 8:58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I  AM.” Exodus 3:14, Revelation 1:8, 22:13, John 17:5, 24, Micah 5:2, Colossians 1:17

Observation Jesus is I AM.

Application Jesus is THE ETERNAL ONE, without beginning or ending, THE GREAT I AM.

Prayer JESUS, ETERNAL GOD and FATHER, thank You for taking on flesh and blood, for living, dying, rising again, defeating death and the grave for me, for doing what only You could do so that I could spend eternity with You. Power and Love beyond my comprehension, may I always be in AWE of YOU.

God Sent His Son Jesus

 Scripture  John 7: 28-29 Jesus cried out, as He taught in the temple, saying, “You both know Me, and you know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know. But I know Him, for I am from Him, and He sent Me.”

Observation Jesus came down, was sent down from heaven by God.

Application God the Father sent down Jesus from heaven for me.

Prayer Thank You Father for sending Jesus down from heaven for me. 

Heaven came down for me . . . God sent His Son, Jesus.

BREAD of LIFE

 

Scripture John 6:33-35 For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world. Then they said to Him, Lord, give us this bread always. And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

Observation Jesus is The Bread of God, The Bread of Life, come down from heaven that we would never hunger and have the gift of eternal life.

Application I have received Jesus, The Bread of God, The Bread of Life, and His gift of eternal life.

Prayer Thank You, Jesus, for coming down from heaven to bring the gift of eternal life.

REMEMBER and Remember No More

 

Scripture Isaiah 65:17 For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.

Psalms 62:1-2 Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation,  He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my  defense; I shall not be greatly moved.

Psalms 62:5-8 My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah

Observation/Application/Prayer My Defense, my Rock, my Glory, my Refuge, my Strength, my God, my Salvation, my Jesus, my LORD, my Savior. Whatever comes my way I know You are with me, that I can pour out my heart before You, You listen, You love. My Creator, Creator of all that is and will no longer be or be remembered or brought to mind in that New Heaven and New Earth beyond my comprehension where there will be no more sin, sickness, pain, sorrow, or tears. The old things passed away and everything forever new. Thank You Jesus, my All, here, now, and for All eternity.

PAINFUL PURPOSE

I don't speak of or share about this very often, yet many of you out there know I deal  with constant, chronic, sharp, aching pain. Yesterday, carrying over to today is the worst I've experienced in a long time. Maybe there are others out there dealing with your own chronic issues, whether they be physical, emotional, addiction, etc. There is a God and Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Who knows, understands, loves, and Whose infinite grace is immeasurable more than we could ever need. Cry out to Him today and when you do, cry out for others too. Trust Him and His all-sufficient grace. Drop me a note if you or anyone you know is need of prayer for any of these issues.-MR So that I should not be exalted above measure . . . a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to strike me sharply and repeatedly with force, so that I would not be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord many times that it might be taken from me. But He answered me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in my infirmities for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:7-10

God's Goodness

 

  Scripture Psalms 107:8, 15, 21, 31 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

Observation Our God is good and works in our lives in wondrous ways.

Application I would have a thankful heart for the goodness of God my Father and the wonderful works He has and will do in my life.

Prayer Thank You, Father for Your goodness, and wonderful works for me.

HIS NAME is JESUS

 

Scripture Isaiah 60:16b You shall know that I, the Lord, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

60:19b But the Lord will be to you an everlasting light, and your God your glory, 20b  For the Lord will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended.

61:1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound.

John 1:4-5, 1:45  

Observation Lord, Savior, Redeemer, Mighty One, Everlasting Light, Anointed One, HIS NAME IS JESUS.

Application JESUS is Lord, Savior, Redeemer, and so much more to me.

Prayer Thank You, Jesus, for being all of these and infinitely, beyond my comprehension, more to me.

His Body for My Sin

 

 Scripture Isaiah 53:1 Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?

53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He Was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

Observation/ Application His arms stretched out, His body wounded, bruised, beaten, and torn for all to see and receive.

Prayer Thank You, Jesus, for suffering to pay the price for my sin.

Sacrifice for Salvation

 

Scripture Isaiah 52:10 The Lord has made bare His holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

 Isaiah 52:14 Just as many were astonished at you, so His visage was marred more than any man, and His form more than the sons of men.

Observation Jesus spread out His arms, His body was torn, that I might receive the salvation of God.

Application May I look to and be thankful for Jesus’ sacrifice for my salvation.

Prayer Thank You, Jesus, for stretching our Your arms on the cross and sacrificing Your body so that I might receive the gift of eternal life.

Created for His Glory

 

Scripture  Isaiah 49:1-2  The Lord has called Me from the womb; from the matrix of My mother, He has made mention of My name. And He has made My mouth like a sharp sword; In the shadow of His hand, He has hidden Me and made Me a polished shaft; In His quiver He has hidden Me.

Observation Just like Jesus, I am an instrument in God’s hand, for His glory.

Application I am a creation of God, for His glory.

Prayer Father, may I be an instrument in Your hands, for Your glory.
