Trust,Obey, and Have Faith

 

Scripture  Mark 3:35- Whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.-Jesus

Mark 4:9-He who has ears to hear, let him hear!-Jesus

Mark 4:23- If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.

Mark 4:40 “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”

Observation Jesus shares over and over with the people and pretty much says, You better listen, and the evidence will be when you show by your actions that you really hear, believe, live out, have faith in what I am teaching.

Application I would put my faith/trust wholly in Jesus, in God’s Word. I would not only listen to but be a doer of God’s Word.

Prayer Dear Jesus, by the power of Your Holy Spirit, I would put my faith in and be a doer of Your Word.  I would show through my actions that I trust in, believe in You and Your Word.

Being a Doer

 

Scripture Luke 11:28 Jesus said, Blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!

Observation Blessing comes not just from hearing but doing/keeping God’s Word.

Application I would be a doer and not just a hearer of God’s Word.

Prayer Father, I pray that through the power of Your Holy Spirit, living and abiding in me, that I would be a doer and not just a hearer of Your Word.

Listen and Live

 

Scripture Luke 8:8b ” When He had said these things He cried, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”Matt. 11:15; Mark 7:16; Luke 14:35; Rev. 2:7, 11, 17, 29; 3:6, 13, 22; 13:9 

Observation Jesus calls the people to listen to  His words.

Application I would listen to, learn from, and live out God’s Word.

Prayer Father, I pray that You would help me to not  just be a hearer of Your Word but a doer.

Open the Door

 Scripture Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Observation Jesus is calling, knocking, will you hear, will you believe, will you receive?

Application  We must be more than hearers but open the door of fellowship with Jesus and be doers of  God’s Word.

Prayer Thank You, Jesus for knocking on my heart’s door, I am thankful that I opened up to You.

EARS THAT HEAR

 

Scripture Ezekiel 1:28 28 Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. So, when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of One speaking. Ezekiel 3:27  But when I speak with you, I will open your mouth, and you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God.’ He who hears, let him hear; and he who refuses, let him refuse; for they are a rebellious house.

Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 29 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”  

Observation From the Prophet Ezekiel to the Apostle John a vision from/of God and the voice of/message from God.

Application The message of God has been the same through the centuries; yesterday, today, and forever. He who has ears let him hear.

Prayer Thank You, Father, for gifting me Your Word. I would not only have ears to hear, but a heart to believe, receive and not just be a  hearer but a doer of Your Word. This day and every day having a tender and obedient heart. Yielded and still, seeking Your will, speak to my heart today.

GOD ALMIGHTY With Me

 

  Scripture 2 Kings 19:15-16  Hezekiah prayed before the Lord and said, “Lord, God of Israel,  enthroned above the cherubim, You are the God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.   Incline Your ear, Lord, and hear; open Your eyes, Lord, and see; and listen to the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to taunt the living God.

 2 Chronicles 32:7-8 “Be strong and courageous, do not fear or be dismayed because of the king of Assyria nor because of all the horde that is with him; for the One with us is greater than the one with him.  With him is only an arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people relied on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

James 5:11  Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.

Observation  The LORD GOD Who spoke all things into being hears/listens to and sees me, He shows mercy and compassion, He gives strength and courage, He helps me fight my battles, He gives me endurance and perseverance, He is greater than any foe or trial that may come my way.

Application GREATER is HE WHO is in me than he who is in this world.

Prayer Thank YOU JESUS for opening the doors/treasuries of heaven and pouring out to me mercy, compassion, strength, courage, endurance, perseverance beyond measure and far greater than any trial/battle/foe that may come my way.

Listen and Live

 Scripture Proverbs 22:17-21 Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise and apply your heart to my knowledge; For it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you; Let them all be fixed upon your lips So that your trust may be in the Lord; I have instructed you today, even you. Have I not written to you excellent things of counsels and knowledge, that I may make you know the certainty of the words of truth, that you may answer words of truth to those who send to you?

Observation/Application  Don’t be just hearers but doers of God’s Word trusting in the Lord.

Prayers Father, today and every day I desire to enjoy time with You in Your Word and through the power of the Holy Spirit to live it out.

Hear His Voice

 Scripture Matthew 11:15 He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

Observation God speaks to my heart, am I listening?

Application I want to, need to be sensitive, attentive to the voice of God.

Prayer Father, this day, and each one You bless me with, I would have a sensitivity to, a recognition of Your voice, speaking to me and have a tender/attentive, listening heart.

He Looks and Listens

 

Scripture Psalms 34:15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.

Observation God looks upon me and listens to me.

Application The Lord has His eyes on me and hears when I cry out to Him.

Prayer Thank You Father for always having an eye on me and listening when I cry out too You.

God Sees and Hears

 Scripture Psalms 39:12-Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear to my cry; Do not be silent at my tears.

Observation God hears when I cry out, He sees and is not silent at my tears

Application I will cry out in prayer to God, knowing that He sees my tears, hears my cries.

Prayer Thank You for hearing and responding to my prayers, my cries out to You. I know You see and are not silent at my tears/cries.

My Constant Helper

 Scripture Psalms 38:9-Lord, all my desire is before You; and my sighing is not hidden from You.

Psalms 38:15-For in You, O Lord, (Ps. 39:7)I hope; You will hear, O Lord my God.

Psalms 38:22 Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation!

Observation The Lord, my helper, my salvation, my hope, will hear when I call  out to Him.

Application I will cry out to the Lord; my Helper, Hope, Salvation and He will hear me.

Prayer Dear Lord, thank You for my salvation, thank for being my Hope and Helper, for always being there when I cry out to You.

Open My Eyes and Ears

 

Scripture Mark 8:18 Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?

Observation Jesus was basically asking the disciples if they were paying attention.

Application I would have my eyes open to see and ears open to hear what Jesus is doing in and around me.

Prayer  Jesus, I be more aware that You are at work in and around me, I would be paying attention, have a sensitivity to Your presence, have a tender heart and an open spirit.
