I AM THE LIGHT

  SCRIPTURE John 8:12 Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life.”

John 8:31-32 36 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

John 8:58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”

OBSERVATION Jesus declares Himself as I AM, ONE and the same as the I AM Who spoke to Moses in Exodus 3. I AM Who spoke light into being. I AM Whose word is Truth. I AM Who has, can, and will set people free.

APPLICATION Jesus, the Great I AM, is my Lord, my Light, my Savior, the only True God.

PRAYER Thank You, Jesus, for coming to this Earth for me. The Great I AM, my Lord, my Savior, my Light, my freedom

THE BREAD OF LIFE

 SCRIPTURE John 6:33-35, 47-48 I AM The BREAD of LIFE-For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” Then they said to Him, “Lord, give us this bread always.” And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. . . . Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. I am the bread of life.

OBSERVATION Jesus, the bread of God, the Bread of Life came from heaven to be broken, to give His life for me that I could have everlasting life.

APPLICATION I would share this bread, this everlasting life-giving bread.

PRAYER Thank You, Jesus for coming to give Your life for me that I may have the gift of everlasting life.

I AM JESUS

 

Scripture  John 8:58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I  AM.” Exodus 3:14, Revelation 1:8, 22:13, John 17:5, 24, Micah 5:2, Colossians 1:17

Observation Jesus is I AM.

Application Jesus is THE ETERNAL ONE, without beginning or ending, THE GREAT I AM.

Prayer JESUS, ETERNAL GOD and FATHER, thank You for taking on flesh and blood, for living, dying, rising again, defeating death and the grave for me, for doing what only You could do so that I could spend eternity with You. Power and Love beyond my comprehension, may I always be in AWE of YOU.

A Journey with Jesus-Who I AM

Today I begin a journey, a walk with Jesus in the gospel written by His beloved disciple and friend John. Today I begin a personal, intimate journey, walk with Jesus. Today I will look and listen to Jesus. Today I will learn from and lean on Jesus. Today I will know Jesus and love Him with All my heart. Today I will live with Jesus and for Jesus. Today I join in the proclamation of William Booth (Founder of the Salvation Army), "Jesus Christ has All of me."
Today I will do All I do, with All my heart as unto Jesus.

Near the end of the Gospel of John, in John 20:31, he gives the reason, purpose for writing what he did, "These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ (Messiah), the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name." Life abundant...life everlasting...in Him...in His Name...that is why Jesus came. Today Jesus is saying, "I want you to know Me, I want you to know Who I AM". Today the journey with Jesus begins in the first chapter of John.

JESUS is...
The Word...Eternal...God...Creator...The True Light...Giver of the right, power, authority, privilege to (miraculously) become children of God, something only Jesus can do...The only begotten of the Father...The glory of God...Full of grace and Truth...Declarer of God...Unfolder of the things of God.

What did others say...who did they say He was...who did He say He was?
Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!-John the Baptist
This is the Son of God.-John the Baptist
The One Who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.-God's words, declaration to John the Baptist
Rabbi, Teacher-Disciples
The Messiah...The Christ-Andrew
The One of Whom Moses and the prophets wrote-Philip
Rabbi, Son of God, King of Israel!-Nathanael
The Son of Man-Jesus
