Victory in Jesus

Today I am THANKFUL for the hymn, Victory in Jesus, and share the story behind the song for the writer and for me with a special THANKS to my mom. Check it out and leave a message about how that hymn has touched your life, too.

“Oh victory in Jesus, my Savior forever, He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood, He loved me…and all my love is due Him, He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood.”- E.M. Bartlett- Mr. Bartlett suffered a paralyzing stroke that left him unable to walk or even speak and for the most part, he was bedridden. Many felt the stroke ended his teaching ministry, yet It was during these dark days that Eugene would write his best-known hymn, Victory In Jesus

Thank You Jesus for so loving me. I want to love You more and share Your love. I’m pretty sure I first heard this hymn at Allen Park Church of the Nazarene because my sweet Mom took us, my sister Tina and me, from my earliest memory. Thanks, mom,  I will always remember and be thankful that I first heard about Jesus because of you. This also became a favorite hymn of my Pop who found victory in Jesus at the age of 52.

GOOD NAME

Men talk too much of gold and fame, and not enough about a name; and yet a good name’s better far than all earth’s glistening jewels are.-

Edgar Albert Guest

- A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, Loving favor rather than silver and gold.-Proverbs 22:1
Both my parents are covered by this scripture-love and miss them both.

NATIVITY-IMMANUEL

"For unto us a child is born . . . "My mom stained these in ceramics when we were children, lots of hard work but will always be a family treasure, as she was and will remain-LOVE AND MISS YOU MOM

ADVENT-The Coming Messiah-So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:"Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us." Matthew 1:22-23

Week Nineteen 2011 Status

I LOVE MY MOM!!! 5/7 11:48pm

There is nothing greater, nothhing more precious than God's gracious gift of eternal life. Yesterday I read a letter from a now sixteen year old young man, Jose Hurtado Calero, from Peru, whom I've sponsored through Compassion International, since he was about five. He shared that he had changed a bit and repented of his sins and asked me to pray for his family to do the same. Nothing matters more...I pray for all who need to receive that gift today. 5/9 8:32am

The LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.-Psalm 84:11 5/9 8:36am

Awake early before sunrise. Birds singin. A new day, a gracious gift from God! His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me. Thank You, Father! 5/10 5:31am

REMEMBER THE MAY DAY

There are days, dates, moments in time that are forever etched in my memory. This day deemed "Mother's Day" brings many memories to my mind, heart, and tears to my eyes. So many life changing moments connected to this day, this month of May, and my Mom. It was six years ago, May 2004 when the "C" word made its appearance in our family, through my Mom...breast cancer...since that diagnosis and subsequent surgery, she has remained cancer free...thank You LORD.The following year, 2005, on the day after Mother's Day, I took a fall in my chair, and broke my left orbital bone. Then there was/is 05/06/07, when my Dad left this world and entered into his eternal home.

MY PARENTS

Love this picture of my parents...married 4/16/60...I'm thankful for parents who lived out and kept their vows "til death do us part"...over 47 years. So I say thank You God for my parents...thank you Mom and Dad for your love and faithfulness to each other, to/for me, our family, and God. I love you both...I miss you Pop.
