Encourage One Another

Encouragement, we all need to be encouraged.. At some point in life we will find ourselves faced with a situation or circumstance in which we will need a helping hand, an encouraging word. I cannot count the number of times this has been the case during my lifetime. Today, in the midst of whatever we have going on in our lives let us have open ears to hear, open eyes to see, and an open heart to respond to the needs of those around us. Let us be on the look out for ways we can be a help and encouragement to one another.

Two are better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor.
10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up.-Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Unbroken

Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken. - Ecclesiastes 4:1-Susie shared a message she heard from this text/passage with me early in our renewed relationship., almost 14 years ago, and though the enemy tugs hard on that rope/cord, I’ll claim this truth, God's Truth, and the strength that is promised. -For all you married couples out there, may these words from God's Word encourage you today.-MR

GREAT JOY

Scripture Acts 15:3b they caused great joy to all the brethren . . . we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they.- Acts 15:11

When they had read it, they rejoiced over its encouragement. Now Judas and Silas, themselves being prophets also, exhorted and strengthened the brethren with many words.- Acts 15:31-32

Observation The disciples caused great joy and brought encouragement through God’s Word. They exhorted and strengthened  the brethren.

Application Spending time in, and sharing God’s Word, and His gracious  gift of salvation brings  great joy, encouragement, strength, and exhortation.

Prayer Father, thank You for Your grace, through Jesus. I, too, would rejoice and be encouraged through Your Word and be one who causes great joy, encouragement and exhorts and strengthens others.

A GOOD MAN

Scripture Acts 11:23-24 -When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord. For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.

Observation These verses are a description of Barnabas when he was sent out from the church in Jerusalem to Antioch.

Application I, too, would be a good man, an encourager, full of the Holy Spirit and faith.

Prayer Father, I thank You for Your grace. Let me be, this day, and every day that You bless me with, a good man, full of Your Holy Spirit and faith. May my life be an instrument in Your hands that others may come to know You.

Status Week Thirty-Four 2010

How precious did that GRACE appear, the hour I first believed. I remember and am thankful for that hour and God's precious GRACE! AMAZING GRACE...still amazes me! How about you?

There is great joy for all who will open their hearts to Christ and find life in Him.

When Christ is the center of our life, all else comes into proper focus.

Father, You carry me, encourage me, and strengthen me. Your grace is sufficient, Your mercies are new every day. Thank You!!!

Status Week Ten 2010

“Oh victory in Jesus, my Savior forever, He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood, He loved me…and all my love is due Him, He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood.” Thank You Jesus for so loving me...I want to love You more and share Your love.

Help me this day, O Lord, to be sensitive to any and all opportunities I have to meet, in the Name of Jesus, the needs of others, and to share Jesus through these opportunities. May my words this day encorage others.

Your love, O God, would spare no pain,To conquer death and win;You sent Your only Son to die,To rescue us from sin. Has heaven rejoiced over your rescue? If so, join the ranks of those who reach others with the rescuing grace of Jesus.

The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Thank YOU JESUS for the gift...I will treasure it, live it, and share it.

Seize the Day

My times are in Your hand. —Psalm 31:15
Before entering the broadcasting field, Jim Valvano led the North Carolina State University basketball team to a national championship. Then cancer developed in his lower back. Invited to address the Duke University squad, Jim had this to say,

Life changes when you least expect it to. The future is uncertain. So, seize this day, seize this moment, and make the most of it.”

God gives us an urgent directive in Hebrews 3:13, “Exhort one another daily, while it is called Today…” Why is there such a strong insistence on today?
It may be that today, this very day, could be the last one in our time here on earth. Today may be your last opportunity to accept God’s gift of salvation, or if you know the Lord already, to share this gift, to share His love with a friend or loved one.
James has this warning about presuming upon our tomorrows: “You do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away” (4:14).
Seize the opportunities that God gives you today. That’s sound advice… for all of us.
Redeem the time—God only knows How soon our little life may close; As every passing moment flows,Redeem the time!
Plan as though you’ll be living for a century; live as though you’ll be leaving today.
Today open your ears to hear His voice,
Today open your heart to receive,
Today open your eyes to see,
Today open your mind to know,
Today open your mouth to share,
Today rest in the Lord,
Today exhort one another,
Today partake of Christ.

E.S.P.N.

Acrostics have always been a good way for me to remember and share Biblical Truth...here is another that came to me recently-

E-encourage one another
S-support one another
P-pray for one another
N-need...we need one another...we need God.

Today in Our Daily Bread Devotional this Truth was reinforced

Encouragement! We all need it, especially in our walk of faith. The book of Hebrews tells us to keep urging each other on. "Let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, . . . but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching" (10:24-25).

Help me, Lord, to reassure and strengthen
Others by the words I speak today;
I would always try to be affirming,
As our pathways cross along life's way.
