 Scripture

Isaiah 43:11 I, even I, am the Lord, and besides Me there is no Savior.

Isaiah 44:6 I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.

Isaiah 44:8 Is there a God besides Me? Indeed, there is no other Rock; I know not one.

Isaiah 44:24 Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb: I am the Lord, who makes all things.

Isaiah 45:5 I am the Lord, and there is no other; There is no God besides Me.

Isaiah 45:6 There is none besides Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other.

Isaiah 45:14b Surely God is in you, and there is no other; There is no other God.

Isaiah 45:18b I am the Lord, and there is no other.

Isaiah 45:21b There is no other God besides Me, a just God and a Savior; There is none besides Me.

Isaiah 45:22 Look to Me, and be saved, all you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.

Isaiah 45:23 I have sworn by Myself; The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that to Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall take an oath.

Observation/Application There is only One Lord, God, Rock, Redeemer, and Savior and to Him every knee will bow, and every tongue take an oath.

Prayer Thank You Jesus, my Lord, my God, my Rock, my Redeemer, my Savior,  my Creator, for loving me, for saving me, for letting me know and worship You. I look forward to the day when my knees will bow and my tongue will confess and forever worship You my Lord, God, and Savior.

God Looks and Listens

 

 Scripture I Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are open to their prayers.

Observation My eternal God and Father sees and hears me.

Application Every day I will live in light of knowing that the God of all creation sees me and hears me.

Prayer Thank You, Father, for the security of knowing Your eyes are on me and You hear my every prayer.

Eternal Word

 Scripture Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers, the flower fades but the word of our God stands forever.

Observation God’s Word is eternal.

Application I would put my faith/trust in God’s Word.

Prayer Thank You, my God and Father for Your Word. Thank You for Jesus, The Word made flesh opening the door that I might know You and receive the gift of eternal life.

TRUTH and LOYALTY

 

2 Kings 20:3 “Remember now, O Lord, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart and have done what was good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly. Psalm 39:12

Observation Hezekiah walked in THE TRUTH, had a LOYAL HEART, and did what was good in God’s sight.

Application I, too, would walk in THE TRUTH, have a LOYAL HEART, and do what is right in Your sight oh God.

Prayer Father God, help me to walk in THE TRUTH, with a LOYAL HEART, and do what is right in Your eyes.

An Eternal Inheritance

 

  Scripture   I Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Day Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,   to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable, undefiled, and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,  who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Observation God, my gracious and merciful Father has purchased for me the gift of salvation and eternal life through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, a gift that is imperishable, undefiled reserved in heaven and protected by His power through my faith in Him.

Application My faith and trust are in Christ alone for the gift of salvation and eternal life.

Prayer Father God, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to do what only He could do in purchasing for me and all who would believe, the imperishable gift of salvation and eternal life. Thank You for making heaven my home.

GOD ALMIGHTY With Me

 

  Scripture 2 Kings 19:15-16  Hezekiah prayed before the Lord and said, “Lord, God of Israel,  enthroned above the cherubim, You are the God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.   Incline Your ear, Lord, and hear; open Your eyes, Lord, and see; and listen to the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to taunt the living God.

 2 Chronicles 32:7-8 “Be strong and courageous, do not fear or be dismayed because of the king of Assyria nor because of all the horde that is with him; for the One with us is greater than the one with him.  With him is only an arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people relied on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

James 5:11  Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.

Observation  The LORD GOD Who spoke all things into being hears/listens to and sees me, He shows mercy and compassion, He gives strength and courage, He helps me fight my battles, He gives me endurance and perseverance, He is greater than any foe or trial that may come my way.

Application GREATER is HE WHO is in me than he who is in this world.

Prayer Thank YOU JESUS for opening the doors/treasuries of heaven and pouring out to me mercy, compassion, strength, courage, endurance, perseverance beyond measure and far greater than any trial/battle/foe that may come my way.

God of Grace and Mercy

 Scripture 2 Chronicles 30:9b The Lord your God is gracious and merciful and will not turn His face from you if you return to Him.

 Observation/ Application   God is gracious and merciful.

Prayer Thank You Father for Your grace and mercy.

My Savior

 

 

You saved my soul . . . For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works,.- Ephesians 2:8-9

You saved my life out of the waters . . . He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.- Psalm 18:16

You helped me when I couldn't help myself . . . He said to me,“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me.-2 Corinthians 12:9

You are truly my Savior . . . God is my Savior; I will trust Him and not be afraid. The LORD gives me power and strength; He is my Savior-Isaiah 12:2

. . . be Lord, Jesus, of all of me . . .My body is the temple of The Holy Spirit, Who lives in me, Whom I have received from God. I am not my own. I was bought at a price; therefore, I will glorify God in my body and spirit, which are His.- 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

My Refuge, Strength, and Help

  Scripture Psalms 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble- (An abundantly available help )  

Observation In the midst of trouble, my God is an abundantly available Help, a place where I find refuge and strength.

Application No matter what may come my way, my God provides an abundance of help, strength, and protection.

Prayer Thank You, Father, for being my constant, abundant source of help, strength, and protection.

God With Us

 

 Scripture Isaiah 7:14   Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

Observation Immanuel, the Son of God, God with us, will come into the world in a miraculous way.

Application The Son of God came for me.

Prayer Thank You, Father, for sending Your Son Jesus in a miraculous way.

Glorify God

 

  Scripture Jude 1:25 To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion, and power, Both now and forever. Amen.

Observation God our Savior alone is wise and worthy of glory, majesty, dominion, and power forever.

Application I would glorify God my Savior now and forever.

Prayer May my life glorify and honor You my Savior and God.

God's Gracious Gift

 

 Scripture Titus 3:4-7 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared,  not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,  whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,  that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Observation/Application  Through God’s loving kindness and mercy I have salvation. He poured out His Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ my Savior. By His grace I have the gift of eternal life.

Prayer Thank You, Father, for the gracious gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ my Savior.

A New Wave of Life

 The waters have come up to my neck, where there is no standing; I have come into deep waters…Psalm 69:1-2 "He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of many waters." Psalm 18:16

So many days in a lifetime, many fade into the background, but then there are others that remain vividly, moment by moment in your mind . . .

On 7/9/88, at the age of twenty-three, I took my last steps . . . thirty-four years ago today I was at a beautiful beach on Sanibel & Captiva Islands with friends when my life and many others took an unexpected turn. Though we are separated by many miles there will always be a special bond. By God's grace and the support, help, and encouragement of others, I am still here. I hope and pray that my life has been and continues to be one that shines God's Light, shares His love, is a living testimony of His grace, and is an inspiration and encouragement to others. Every moment is a precious gift to be cherished. Lots of great moments and particularly challenging and trying times...thankful/blessed to have Susie Smith Rodriguez by my side. Please feel free to share any thoughts, memories, etc. that you may have.

Glorify and Rejoice

 

Scripture Psalms 104:31 May the glory of the Lord endure forever; May the Lord rejoice in His works.

Observation God’s glory endures forever, the Lord rejoices in His creation.

Application May I desire to glorify God, may the Lord rejoice in me.

Prayer Father, I pray that my life would glorify You and that You would rejoice in me.

Beyond Abundance

 

 Scripture Psalms 86:5, 13, 15  For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.

 For great is Your mercy toward me, and You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.

But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in mercy and truth.

Observation You, Lord, are good, forgiving, compassionate, gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in mercy and truth.

Application All that You are is beyond my comprehension, yet You offer it all up to me and for me.

Prayer Father, thank You for Your goodness, forgiveness, compassion, grace, longsuffering, mercy, and Truth, all beyond measure and comprehension, all poured out to and for me.
