Only One

 Scripture Psalms 83:18 That they may know that You, whose name alone is the Lord, are The Most High over all the earth.

I Timothy 2:3-6 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Observation There is only One Lord God Most High, One Mediator between God and man, and One Savior, Jesus Christ, Who desires all to be saved.

Application May I be thankful each day for my salvation and be prayerful that all may know, hear of, and receive such a great salvation.

Prayer Thank You, Father, thank You, Jesus, for loving me, for being my Savior, may I too desire all to be saved.

Fly Away Home

 Scripture 2 Kings 2:11   Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

Observation  Miraculous event, one of those, if I could have picked one to witness in person, this would be one of my top choices.

Application  There will be a day/time when some will be taken up into heaven while others are left behind.

Prayer  Thank You, Jesus, for the gift of eternal life that You purchased for me that someday I too will be taken up into heaven. 

Gracious Words

 

Scripture Colossians 4:6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

Ecclesiastes 10:15

Observation I should choose my words carefully.

Application Be careful what I say and how I say it.

Prayer Father, help me to be gracious and careful in the words I choose and the way I respond to others.

Peace and Thanksgiving

 

Scripture Colossians 3:15 Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body: and be thankful.

Observation/ Application Let God’s peace rule your heart and be thankful.

Prayer Thank You, Father, for Your peace, may it rule in and fill my heart.

Sacrificial Love

Scripture Walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. Ephesians 5:2

Observation Christ’s love is sacrificial.

Application I would follow Jesus’ example of sacrificial love.

Prayer Father, today, and every day I would follow Jesus’ example of sacrificial love.

Listen to and Learn from Jesus

 

Day 159 Ecclesiastes 7-9 Ephesians 4

Scripture Ephesians 4:21   if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:

Ephesians 4:32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Observation You have been taught by Jesus, Who is The Truth, follow His example of forgiveness.

Application Hear, listen, to and learn from Jesus, The Truth, and be forgiving, just as He forgave you.

Prayer  Dear Jesus, today I would listen to and learn from You, Who are The Truth, and extend forgiveness to others.

Delivering Hands

 

Scripture-Psalms 18:16 He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.

Observation God delivered me out of the water when I could not deliver myself.

Application God used the hands of my friends to deliver me out of the water.

Prayer Thank You, Father, for pulling me out of the water, by the hands of my friends.

Eternity in My Heart

 

Scripture Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.

Observation/ Application  The Eternal God has placed eternity in our hearts.

Prayer Thank You Father for the gift of eternal life.

God's Word is my Pure Shield

 Scripture Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.

Observation God’s Word is pure and will shield/protect us if we trust in Him.

Application I will trust God/His Word to be my shield/protection.

Prayer Father, thank You for Your pure/holy Word, my constant protection, today and everyday my faith/trust are in You.

Apples of Gold

 Scripture Proverbs 25:11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver. Prov. 15:23; Is. 50:4 

Observation The right word at the right time is beyond value.

Application I would be more careful in choosing my words.

Prayer  Father, help me to guard my mouth that I might speak words of life.

Safety and Security

 

Scripture Proverbs 29:25-26 The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe. Many seek the ruler’s favor, but justice for man comes from the Lord.

Observation Safety and security come from God but reverence for man is a snare.

Application I would trust the Lord and His justice.

Prayer Father, my faith, and trust are in You. Thank You for being my place of safety and security.

Listen and Live

 Scripture Proverbs 22:17-21 Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise and apply your heart to my knowledge; For it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you; Let them all be fixed upon your lips So that your trust may be in the Lord; I have instructed you today, even you. Have I not written to you excellent things of counsels and knowledge, that I may make you know the certainty of the words of truth, that you may answer words of truth to those who send to you?

Observation/Application  Don’t be just hearers but doers of God’s Word trusting in the Lord.

Prayers Father, today and every day I desire to enjoy time with You in Your Word and through the power of the Holy Spirit to live it out.

Get it and Keep it

 

Scripture Proverbs 19:8 He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; He who keeps understanding will find good. Proverbs 16:20

Observation If you get wisdom then you love your soul. If you keep understanding, you’ll find good.

Application Get and keep wisdom and understanding.

Prayer Father, thank You for allowing us to have access to wisdom and understanding.

Looking like The LORD

 

Scripture Proverbs 16:2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the spirits. Proverbs 21:2 Proverbs 19:21

Observation The Lord sees things differently than we do.

Application I will look to the Lord for direction.

Prayer Father God, I would seek Your wisdom/direction when making plans/decisions.

Total Impact

 

 Scripture Proverbs 4:20-21 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart.

Observation Pay attention, listen, look, learn, lean, live, love, treasure these words.

Application Let these words/teachings, this wisdom impact the way you live your life, the way you see this world. Be more than a listener but a doer. Let them be your deepest treasure.

Prayer Father, this day, every day, may I treasure Your Word, Your wisdom and through the power of Your Holy Spirit live and let it impact every area/part, the whole of my life.
