Fall Back

24/7 has become a popular term, referring to "all the time", however, it does not apply to this first week in November. This week we have 25/1 and 24/6. People sometimes say, "there are only twenty four hours in a day" but today they would be wrong. On this November 2 there are twenty five hours in a day. How can that be? How does it work? Well, the simple answer is that you turn your clocks back one hour, technically it's suppose to occur at 2am, before you go to bed on November 1. But the more I think about it, the less I understand it, the more unexplainable it becomes. I could say that it gives us an hour back for a day back in Spring when we "sprung forward", setting our clocks ahead one hour, and experienced a twenty three hour day. Daylight savings time is what they call it. So, then, how to explain that? Today we are back to standard time. Standard? I suppose that means this is where our time is suppose to be? So, this is normal time until we spring forward again? Oh my! I think it's time to quit trying to understand time and start enjoying it because once it's gone we can't get it back even on a twenty five hour day.
